GHOST RECON 1 WEAPONS LIST
Here is a list of all the weapons that
show up in Ghost Recon 1 and its mission packs for both single player and multiplayer game types.
The majority of the weapons used by the Ghosts are listed in the game manuals.
However, some weapons used by the enemies do not show up in the manuals, and can only be
found listed as ".gun" files in GR's "Equip" folder.
Ghost Recon 1 weapons appear in green.
Desert Siege weapons appear in yellow.
There are 9 new weapons introduced in Desert Siege. All Desert Siege weapons are multiplayer-only unless
indicated.
Island Thunder weapons appear in blue. There are 12 new
weapons introduced in Island Thunder. All Island Thunder weapons are only available in
Quick Mission mode or multiplayer unless indicated.
Most of the descriptions for the weapons that appear in the original
Ghost Recon
are derived from the game manual. A few descriptions come from Ghost Recon.com's "official"
weapons page. Descriptions for
Desert Siege weapons come
from an official Ubi Soft Desert Siege press information package. Descriptions for the
Island Thunder weapons were
written by us following our own research.
For more details about the weapons stats, check out German fan site RainbowSix.org's
GR weapons section.
PLEASE NOTE: Thanks to all the fans that have e-mailed us about how some of the names and weapons specs in
this list are not totally accurate (e.g. the M4 should be the M4A1, the M16A2 looks more like a M16A4,
the MP5 should be a MP5A4, the MP5 SD should be the MP5SD5 and
it fires standard NATO 9x19mm, not subsonic rounds). Our goal for this weapons page is to give some brief information
(including some interesting historical notes) so players can differentiate between the huge number of weapons
in the GR series. The names and specs in the descriptions below reflect what is seen in-game and in the manuals,
which the game designers have either purposely (to avoid intellectual property issues) or perhaps mistakenly deviated from real world
info.

SPECIAL THANKS
I want to extend special thanks to certain individuals who helped make this page more
informative and accurate:
Cynical Saint - For proof-reading this page and pointing out the Equip folder.
Serellan - For his edits and reminding me about the Russian grenade launchers!
Eric Avila - For finding out that the M1911 pistol is used by Papashvili in GR's first level! Eric also
pointed out the visual differences between the AK47 and AK74 in-game
(The AK74's flash suppressor is more cylindrical while the AK47's flash suppressors are usually
an open top diagonal cut) and sending in the description for the AK74.
Scott Howe - For pointing out the differences between the M82A1 and M98 Barrett.
Corey - For finding the AK74U on the Docks level.
Charles Jasper - For pointing out the differences between the in-game and real-life names of the weapons.
B. Tijsterman - For pointing out 3 years after this page was completed (last update was in May 2004!)
that all this time we have missed listing the stationary Kord 12.7 Heavy Machine Gun found in enemy emplacements.
